It will take time to get a greencard (a process we have not even begun), and requires a sponsor demonstrating sufficient income she will not become destitute and dependent on public assistance. At present there it is unclear whether anyone but a spouse or blood relation qualifies as such a sponsor, so I may need a years worth of documented Stateside earnings before she is eligible. My mom is not getting younger though, and I am an only child. She has not shown any signs of serious health problems (at least since I left; she did give us all quite a scare about a week BEFORE I left,) but is definitely showing the signs of turning 69; at this point there is pretty much only one direction her health can go, and little I can do about it from a distance of 7000 miles.

Norwegian is cool though, if a bit frustrating; I do not enjoy learning new languages nearly as much as one might expect. Kanskje kan vi øve på Skype med Erik snart.
