In the Republicans Through the Looking Glass world that somehow makes Zimmerman the martyr, if a surprisingly lively one.

The bottom line here is a black school kid was killed for the great crime of walking home from the store in a nice neighborhood. Just like a few years ago when a couple Bellaire cops followed a black guy to his parents upscale home then shot him in the back while they watched. In both cases it was inconceivable to the shooter "one of THEM" could have any legitimate reason to be in a wealthy neighborhood, so he was treated as a dangerous criminal, so resisting unprovoked physical capture "justified" shooting him.

No one but Zimmerman and Martin know everything that led to the latters death, so there was reasonable doubt for a murder charge, and manslaughter would have been far easier to prove. However, that does not mean Zimmerman is inexplicably a hero or Martin just as inexplicably a villain. Again, a black school kid was shot and killed for the great crime of walking home from a neighborhood store; while that may not be murder, it is hardly justified, let alone laudable.
