... is that he seems to be okay with the idea that a person can work such long hours that they don't have time to even peel vegetables and still can't earn enough to afford better food than McDonald's, yet he's upset with people who advocate for more organic food, to the point of mocking them constantly throughout the article. Now I don't go out of my way to buy organic food myself, but it just feels like there's something wrong with his priorities here.
Besides, the staples of produce (carrots, lettuce, apples, bananas) are all fairly inexpensive, and both carrots and apples will keep quite a while in the fridge. Not exactly luxury items. You can't live off them, but you can't live off McDonald's either, or at least you shouldn't.
