I'm not sure if you're referring to the media, the internet, or how people form opinions in general today but I think most people have their information niches now. Information is so easy to get that its easy to set something as a "favorite" on your browser and go to that same well day after day.

Unfortunately, those wells are tainted by ideologies, money, and just straight up personal opinions. Its not so much about the facts and the truths. The old days of going to the library and looking through books and documents to generate and present factual information are long gone. People rely on yellow journalism and electronics (TV, computers) as ground truth.
