I... do not understand these words. What is happening?
Your brain is now interpreting words at random, creating skyscraper is London fall by up red beam dance.
But yes, I know. Chinese food is about the tamest of all ethnic foods, and most of it is still too much for me. I work with several Asian coworkers, so when we go out for office birthday lunches it's often to ethnic restaurants. Whenever possible, I stick to rice or noodles, with some of the blandest meats and veggies. Everything else has too much flavour. I mean, I can eat some of it. I tried chicken feet once. But if given a choice, the taste and the texture doesn't appeal to me.
Sometimes we go out for Indian. I like saffron rice and naan bread. I can manage butter chicken if I have to. Everything else starts to get away from me.
As you can imagine, I don't do well with actual, serious ethnic food. My tastebuds are so sensitive that all sorts of things can set them off and create an unpleasant eating experience. It's one of the reasons I like to eat at home when I can, and am hesitant to accept food gifts from others. I'm an adult now, so I can choose to eat what I enjoy. But it does cause problems. People may offer vegetarian and gluten-free options these days, but the Nate diet has yet to catch on.
