My cousin is getting married in Sept. I am trying to decide on a gift for the shower. She and I are really close, so it's not that I'm having trouble finding something for her - what I can't decide is whether or not I should stick to the gift registry. I do not like them, but I always feel bad about that.

She got me something personal and fun (inside-jokey but nice), and I know she wouldn't be upset with something different, but I'm always hesitant to go off list. Argh!
Thoughts? Stick to the list? Or go with my instinct?
One of the things I like for her is on the link.
I agree with some of the comments above about the registry being mostly useful for avoiding duplicates/making gift shopping easier for attendees (as much as I usually agree with Sareitha, I gotta say that some people are just oblivious about what sort of things you like.. even if they're pretty close to you otherwise )
If you have something else unique/personal in mind, I would go with that, or do what A2k said and pick up something from the registry as well.

If she is that close, do both.....one smaller/modest gift from the list and one wild card gift.

Couples put a lot of thought into wedding lists. People deciding to do their own thing is annoying.
