Unless you want some heating effect too, they're still a touch pricey but you can get ones that give off virtually nothing but the frequencies for photosynthesis, so lower electric bill (unless you need a higher temp anyway) and you can probably even ratchet up the luminosity to take advantage of the higher CO2 concentrations in your house.
I have looked only a little bit, but I have only found the CFL ones. I already use LED bulbs in my house, and a, slowly replacing my CFL with LED.
I don't need to worry about electric bill because I don't have one. It's battery amp hours I need to think about.
