Anything that is valuable is going to have a cost. Otherwise what good is it?

Our current department of education has not been successful under either republicans or democrats but just slashing its funding isn't going to fix the problem either.

We need to figure out how to fund our public schools, pay our teachers a salary that makes it beneficial for them to teach, instead of relying on their love of teaching to keep them in the position.

We also need to support things like Khan Academy and Udacity.
