I don't have a truly viable one. I just have a bunch of ideas that no one would want to enact. HyogaRott Send a noteboard - 24/03/2013 12:49:58 PM

Heck, I'm not so sure I would want to truly live in such a world.

If made king I would do away with all the "morality" laws (prostitution and drugs come readily to mind). My idea of criminal would be limited to actions that actually hurt someone other than yourself. I'd place an arbitrary limit on how much damage an individual would be allowed to inflict before the penalty is death (rape would absolutely be on the death side of that line). For the lack of a better option some means of corporal punishment, or limited incarceration in either the military or some sort of work camp performing a useful function for society, and/or loss of property (fines) would be applied for offenses that did not merit death.

I just see absolutely no use for expensive long term incarceration. I'd envision criminal justice measures as being preventative (in that you don't want to do it because the penalty is so nasty that you don't want to incur it), and punitive, not correctional (we'll teach you to be better after you have committed a crime). One penalty that would exist is the revocation of citizenship. If you don't want to live within the bounds of our society, go find some other society.

I believe in having freedom, and accepting the consequences of using that freedom.
