View original postFans want the Blue Jays to go after Morneau all the time. And looking at Votto, as I just did, I didn't realize he was already 29 (says the guy who is only two months younger than Votto). He'll need to have very consistent, high-production years for the rest of his career if he wants a shot at the Hall, I guess, since he's still under a thousand career hits at this point.
Well, Walker was your next best shot at the Hall. With Morneau it's too early to tell. And what you say about Votto is true.
View original postOther active Canadian players of note include Russell Martin, poor Jason Bay, Ryan Dempster, and John Axford. There's also a pitcher named Ryan Braun who's Canadian, but sadly he's not that Ryan Braun. Eric Gagne was Canadian, and then there are a bunch of others who probably aren't terribly noteworthy.
Being a Dodgers fan, I am well aware of Martin and Gagne. Bay I know about, too, but Dempster is a surprise.

Votto and Morneau are sort of the poster boys of Canadian baseball.
