It just keeps it sealed up instead of putting it into the atmosphere. So you're stuck with tons (literally) of this gas. What do we do with it?
CO2 is actually useful, but don't forget that mineral carbonation is an option. Magnesium and Calcium Oxides are abundant and they react exothermically with carbon dioxide to produce magnesium and calcium carbonate, obviously we have no problem putting those in long term storage. My own preference if possible is obviously to build up a biochar in the dirt itself, terra preta is damn good soil and the carbon stored in it is literally tons per acre even if fairly thin, and we've got billions of acres of soil that would benefit from that sort of enrichment.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

I wonder if it could work on other fuels?

But the CO2 levels in our atmosphere are 20% higher than 50 years ago

There's a certain irony to being criticized on this one from that sector

It seems pretty dubious. It still produces CO2.

The technology is still a big improvement over current methods.

Oh, I agree. My point is just that sequestration will remain an issue. *NM*

Well dense CO2 is easier to get rid of

Pretty sure putting it in the dirt would increase atmospheric levels, though. EDIT: Never mind.
