The government should have both the power and responsibility to step in and protect children from dangerous parents but with kids growing up in homes were they are tortured and neglected stupid names doesn’t break the threshold for government’s power to regulate personal life needs to end.

Now if you name your kid Fuck Face local vulgarity laws should apply, if you name your kid Charles Manson CPS should investigate because you are probably unhinged but if you name your kid Moon Unit then that is just shitty luck for him. Everyone has their crosses to bear and the bar needs to be set very high for the government to regulate personal life.
