If every time you play the game, some part of your brain is going to be clicking into this frame of mind, then it probably just isn't worth playing, right?
Whereas, if throwing it away will produce feelings of having done the most-right thing, then you can carry that with you instead the next time you play a game you are sure is legit.
So throwing it away is sort of a double win.
