Yeah, I almost didn't post about it because it's so eye-roll inducing

The comments read something like lemmings. I like how the refer to everyone who supports the 2nd amendment as gun toting, confederate loving, black hating racists quite a bit. Made me chuckle. Most everyone posting there seems to jumping on the band wagon of what is a very bad and poorly made argument that only works if you have little understanding of the history of that time and no knowledge of things like the Federalist Papers.
Like I said, I'm no fan of those who make of the amendment some sort of holy document, but for most of my life, I've slept in houses that had hunting rifles and shotguns. While I think desiring to own assault rifles and all sorts of "big gun" machinery often seems to be a "compensation" issue, things like this just illustrate how small the "moderate" ground has become on this issue.
That being said, I'm 100% opposed to teachers packing heat in class, but that has much more to do with the issues that certain students have than anything else (although I will say that I would also feel less safe if I had to carry a concealed weapon on my person). But that's a different topic for a different time.
P.S. I also posted this as a pre-emptive measure to keep certain others from posting it first.
