when a country like mexico can figure out a way to provide coverage for its citizens who don't have it, it reflects poorly on the supposedly richest country in the world that people actively campaign *against* providing health insurance to everyone. mexico claims they will cover their uninsured by 2011; the US says "sorry, you'll just have to figure it out on your own".
yes, our overall care is infinitely better than theirs, but the point is that mexico is not exactly known for their financial stability and even *they* can figure out how to make it work.
