Why must it be all or nothing? Guns for all or guns for none? That really annoys me, because 90% of America rejects BOTH views and always will, but the small radical fringe demanding each makes the others alarmism plausible when both SHOULD be dismissed as absurd. We cannot have effective reasonable gun control because absolutists on both sides dominate the conversation, even though virtually no one supports either.
Gun rights radicals insist all gun control=gun bans, and I cannot dismiss them by saying, "no one wants to ban all guns," because, look, here you are. Gun control radicals insist allowing guns=allowing EVERYONE guns, even criminals and mental patients, and I cannot dismiss them by saying, "no one wants to let criminals and mental patients have guns," because, look, right next to your posts are more from a guy insisting ALL gun control is unconstitutional. Meanwhile, the vast majority disagreeing with BOTH of you is afraid to make ANY changes to the law lest one of the radical fringes dominating the debate do the same with new legislation.
You two are not helping anyone but each other. It is like Bush and Bin Laden: The vast majority in BOTH countries did not want to fight FOR either, but each man easily convinced droves of people to fight AGAINST the other.
