A quick Google confirms what I'd already assumed, which is that the US dollar has never in the past half century (and before that I would think even less so) been even close to parity with the British pound, never mind worth more.

Of course, if you mean dollar-euro exchange rate, then what you say is true, I remember that as well, but I'm not sure why you'd be looking at that when the site's currency is pounds...
