All the union supporters just don't seem to GET it. Corporate profits soar because the cost of labor is low, but implementing a union in a global marketplace isn't going to "fix" that. It's just going to kill yet another US factory. Sure, they historically exist for a reason, but most of what they fought for that is good all around is now in Federal and state law.
As for CEO pay, it's time for shareholders to care about companies they invest in, but of course they won't do that as long as stock ownership is viewed as a rarified form of gambling. Eliminate all taxes on dividends to individuals to encourage investment in companies with strong fundamentals and you'll see shareholders start to care about corporate governance because they'll be owners for more than 15 minutes.
Right to work laws are about breaking the union stranglehold on certain states to allow them to be competitive.
