What do you want me to say? Jeordam Send a noteboard - 14/12/2012 05:58:45 PM
The right to work states across the nation at doing much better in terms of unemployment and job creation.

Hell, who's worried about American jobs being underbid overseas. Now we have States doing it to each other.

That the people of that state are in a tough place? They are. Welcome to the competitive world. The rest of us have been dealing with it, but somehow its the destruction of the middle class (for them) if the union is weakened. I don't work in a union environment. I've survived all this time by working hard and taking my chances working for a big corporation.

You're acting as though people are entitled to good jobs that pay well. They aren't. People aren't entitled to jobs as all. A worker proves himself worthy of pay.

There's an old saying from my grandpa that has stuck with me all these years. He lived through The Great Depression. He once told me that "all work is honorable". This is from a man who picked fruit to survive, to being a successful business man...so successful that when he died, he left grandma (and the family) almost $2 million in finances & land. This was a man who worked very hard at any job at any time. And never once did he work union, because he said that work was his protection not "some thug".

I just think it's so... odd... that people don't realize things constantly evolve. - 12/12/2012 05:18:11 PM 713 Views
Isn't this a symptom of evolution? - 12/12/2012 06:12:36 PM 753 Views
we also don't need unions to keep people on the job who are bad at it..... - 12/12/2012 06:20:22 PM 747 Views
Unions are all about protecting underperforming workers and the union leadership. - 12/12/2012 06:37:41 PM 693 Views
Dude, that's insane. - 12/12/2012 06:58:42 PM 745 Views
That's a bit naive. And instead of evolution, I should have said "ever-changing" - 12/12/2012 06:55:41 PM 636 Views
No, big companies aren't all of a sudden altruistic... - 12/12/2012 07:33:16 PM 693 Views

Re: I, for one, stipulate that you are correct. - 13/12/2012 10:18:27 PM 677 Views
How is that wrong? - 13/12/2012 10:52:24 PM 636 Views
it's wrong because it ultimately drives down *all* workers' pay, not just the unions - 13/12/2012 11:26:00 PM 661 Views
Your argument is completely fallacious. - 14/12/2012 04:17:58 AM 651 Views

the only reason unions are obsolete is because republicans don't want them supporting dems - 14/12/2012 06:43:56 PM 648 Views
Unions being obsolete has almost nothing to do with internal American politics - 14/12/2012 07:10:38 PM 582 Views
i would disagree, at least with respect to the spate of "right to work" laws being pushed through - 14/12/2012 07:32:26 PM 660 Views
