Well there has been a slightly more important US politics story for the media to cover of late

But as you note, it might not be a bad thing... yeah, would be essentially impossible to campaign while being Secretary of State. Which is making me wonder what it says about the office of President that that one CAN be combined with campaigning...
After I posted it did occur to me that the reason she wasn't at the Democrat convention is that only the President and Vice President in the executive branch are allowed to get involved in partisan politics (or at least that was the reason I saw given)
And the President would usually expect not to have to fight a primary campaign before the actual election campaign. So it is slightly different... but still, I can't imagine Obama has got much actual Presidenting done over the last few months

Do you think Republicans got the message, or will it take one more unnecessary defeat? *NM*

Good points all. Somehow I don't really think they'll take them to heart any time soon, though...

Biden hinted he was thinking about running. But he looks older, so that might benefit her.

Snowe? Seriously? Chris Christie is far more likely.

Chris Christie *was* far more likely. I expect his party to eat him alive after Sandy.

Yes, but Christie gained the respect of a lot of moderates for that.

Moderates don't vote in the primaries *NM*

Enough of them vote to ensure a Christie victory in a GOP primary.

Has been seen as not entirely Republican for quite a while, I think.

It will be interesting whether the GOPs financiers convince its primary voters you are right.
