Local symphonies are usually charities aerocontrols Send a noteboard - 23/09/2012 11:21:07 PM
donations to them are tax-deductible.

There are a HUGE number of charities whose purpose is primarily to make the world a better place for the wealthy. I'm a member of several (and in a leadership role of one) 501(c)(3) organizations whose missions are essentially to help or provide services to the middle and upper middle class. Very much like many (but not all) churches.

Most of the arguments against religious donations being charitable would apply triply to the local Society for the Preservation of the Historical Boathouse or whatever.

Hollywood has the best moral compass, because it has compassion.

Is the Mormon Church not part of society? But that issue is part of why I favor taxation. *NM* - 23/09/2012 10:14:39 PM 231 Views
I'm part of society too. Does that mean I'm as worthy a recipient of money as the public purse? *NM* - 23/09/2012 10:37:31 PM 273 Views
