Another reason for the regular refs: They do not hero worship star players. Joel Send a noteboard - 18/09/2012 09:11:10 PM
Oh, and the one Ref who was urging on one of the players to do better to help his fantasy team.

I missed that one, unless it was the same ref who called the Saints game after posting all the FB pics of himself in Saints gear. Moral: NEVER use you real name on FB; I am not saying employers and law enforcement will not find you anyway, but there is no sense making it easy for them. ;)

Oops....

So, anyway, how are things? What goes on these days? Thoughts on the latest biannual dog and pony show? Have you returned to run RAFO Chat? :P *runs*

Goes well enough. It's been a fun year with my second real globetrotting - went to NZ for two weeks, ran a marathon on the Inca Trail in Peru this past July. Otherwise, just in the normal grind. Yourself?

Ah, nice country, from what I hear; every pic I have seen of NZ looks gorgeous (no wonder getting a permanent visa practically requires curing cancer.) Mountain marathons though... I do not know what to say to that except "well done" (with a hint of "what did your body do to you to deserve THAT?!")

Pretty much the same old same old since I got to Norway and got married. I just got back from my tonights instalment of my fifth Norwegian class. Mixed bag: I understood 95% of what the teacher said, but the shifting clause word order is really messing with my head. Gotta keep at it, because employment remains difficult due to the language barrier. øve, øve, øve.... ;)

Also, I may be gone by tomorrow. Just occurred to me to swing by because I decided to marathon WoT on principle now that it's basically finished - I'll have a good 5 or so books at the end which will be new to me :P

Ah, c'mon, stick around; the CMB needs more contributions than just me arguing with Isaac, rt and trzaska/Anonymous2000 about politics. Also, I am outnumbered unless Ghav and moondog both show up to help (though at the moment I am just trying not to gloat, if only because Obama could do something monumentally stupid to blow his lead in the next month and a half.)

As for TWoT... the last five, eh? Well, I have good news and bad news.

Bad news: CoT is as bad as advertised (though I still say TPoD was worse,) and KoD feels so rushed I thought early effects of amyloidosis played a role, until Deadsy pointed out Jordan probably did not have any symptoms when he wrote it.

Good news: TGS was actually pretty good, the best since ACoS, possibly since LoC, and ToM was not bad either, plus it resolved the two huge issues looming over the series since TFoH (turns out going through the twisted-door-frame ter'angreal while channeling set off a massive explosion, so the Finns re-directed it to a Caemlyn closet, where Moiraine, Lanfear and Asmodean were immolated by it. :P)

So if you can endure book ten it gets a little better in the next one, if choppy, and then starts to again feel like the series we once enjoyed.

Then you haven't been watching the games. - 19/09/2012 06:18:39 AM 383 Views
Agreed; even as a Denver fan I was disgusted they marked off the wrong yardage on that penalty. - 18/09/2012 05:54:07 AM 320 Views
Exactly. 10 yards for a 5 yard penalty is inexcusable - 18/09/2012 03:57:05 PM 384 Views
