There's nothing in my life that requires it. All it would do is make my phone bill increase and make me worry about how to fit it in my pockets without sitting on it the wrong way or crowding out all the other stuff I cram in there. I don't text people very often, and I don't need to be able to check the Internet no matter where I am, so I'll pass again. Maybe by the time the iPhone 10 comes out I will want one.
And now I can't live without it anymore (Android, mind you, not iPod).

No. I do need a smartphone sooner or later, but I have no intention of buying an iPhone.

I have little need of any smartphone, but the FoxConn stories preclude me ever buying that one.

Why would it be simpler? Most popular apps are cross-platform.

If I could make my wife do things she doesn't want to that would be way down the list

They did what they had to, and no more. There is nothing exciting about the iPhone 5.
