The administration made a stupid, stupid statement, and now they're walking it back, just like the DNC walked back its intentional omission of God and Jerusalem in the Party platform. Regardless of what you think about the subjects, this sort of amateurish handling of everything is endemic in the Obama administration.
The only WH statement I have seen on the subject disavowed the Cairo embassys pre-attack apology for the film. But keep pushing the "Obama apologized to Egypt while Egyptians were attacking our embassy" angle, because it is oh, so very telling, and an instructive episode for the US public.
