Re: organic has always been more about the process than the extra nutrition

I came up with a few straightforward questions but if you would like to ramble, I'd also like to hear any ideas, thoughts, convictions, beliefs, etc. Concerning organic food.
1. Do you think organic food is healthier/safer/more nutritious than ordinary food?
healthier, not as such. safer? since we still don't know the long-term effects of GMO crops on both our health and the overall environment, i will err on the side of caution. unfortunately, more and more chemicals are being introduced as "safe for organic" so i suspect the only truly "organic" food will be from home/personal gardening eventually.
47 food additives are allowed in the EU. That's not a lot. I don't know anything about the organic food legislation in the US expect that you regulate the cleaning agents used in organic food storage facilities and the Union doesn't. Makes trade annoying when the other party has differing standards.
5. Should the use of GMOS be allowed in organic farming?
what would be the point? i can already get GMO food, the organic label is supposed to mean something different than the stuff that agri-business is producing. if the organic label is just to be able to charge extra for the same product then it is meaningless and should be scrapped.
If we one day decide that GMOs are safe for us and the environment, utilizing those techniques would the environmentally responsible thing to do.
I'd be interested in knowing what you guys think about organic food

I think organic food is a luxury that few will want as food prices increase in the coming decades.

I think the organic movement is mostly a big scam: an excuse to charge more money for less food.

Actually, I believe the "no pesticides" part predates the "no GMOs" part.
