I suppose I'd manage to feel much more sorry for her if she just shot him in self defense, didn't cut his fucking head off and would stop rambling about honor. Makes me sick.
She did shoot him in self defense (of course all this relies on the assumption her story is accurate). He was carrying a gun, which he had previously pointed at her, repeatedly, and giving her every reason to assume that if she refused to let him rape her, he would shoot her. That makes it self defense, as far as I can see; she had more than ample reason to assume that her life was in imminent danger if she didn't let him abuse her. With most cases that would be a very murky zone, so women murdering a rapist or attempted rapist can still be convicted of murder, albeit under extenuating circumstances; but in this case, with the rapes actually occuring at gunpoint, it seems clear-cut enough.

I couldn't disagree more with your summary. Way to sound like a civilized world, ca. 2012.

I never said she should assume every approaching male a rapist, and therefore shoot him.

If there is no chance to order them out, or they respond threateningly to the order, sure.

True, but I can understand it; there is a lot of stigma attached to being raped, often self-imposed.
