My whole point is that we cannot go into countries run by dueling bands of warlords, wave our magic wand and expect them to instantly become democracies so we can leave six months later. Aghanistan is about as democratic as South Central Los Angeles.
Even if all that were not true, however, we still could not justly hold the Afghan public responsible for what the dictators oppressing them did in 2001.
