Re: Biden claims Romney wants war with Syria and Iran.

Now, his political motives for making that claim are obvious and unhidden. Americans are tired of war, however much we might fear Iran or sympathize with the Syrian rebels. But the political benefit of associated Romney with hawkishness has neither bearing on the likelihood of Biden's claim, nor whether the truth of it would be a good or bad thing.
Can anyone shed light for me on those two aspects?
1) How hawkish does Romney strike you outside of his necessary campaign leanings? And how likely is he to surround himself with hawks?
Not as hawkish as some people would like to make him out to be. Realistically he hasn't said anything different than Obam has already said. Obama and Romney have both said they would attack if Syria uses chemical weapons and neither wants a nuclear Iran and both have stated that all options are on the table.
2) From the perspective of a reasonable person with hawkish leanings, how apparent will be the necessity or foolishness of another war in the middle east in the next four years?
I believe we are done with ground wars with invasions. Appointing General Petraeus to head the CIA while putting former CIA head Panetta in charge of the Dept. of Defense made it clear the shift would be to joint CIA/Spec-Ops missions and not full scale invasions. I think the most direct involvement you might see from the U.S. military would be something along the lines of no-fly zones ala Libya. I don't think Romney is any different although there have been some neo-con hanger-ons. Of course, with Romney's record of changing his mind quite often I don't know whether he would boot these people if he wins and take on a more pragmatic view on foreign policy. I really think Romney wants to "save" the economy, not start more wars. I think he would like nothing more than to lead America into it's next boom and go down in domestic glory.
3) Would a second Obama administration really be any different on that score from a first Romney administration?
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

Biden should be busy preparing to debate Ryan so he is not shredded, instead of saying stupid things

I still think the post-war Axis powers the best model, but that requires equivalent manpower.
