In fairness to rt, that sounds a lot like a welfare state, which is pretty antithetical to the GOP.

So what if the argument is that Obama and his ilk want to extend the benefits and the security that said public sector douchebags get to everyone? Would it be possible, financially? Would the help businesses, or embolden entrepreneurs? There have been some recent studies that IQ and general intellect jumps when you don't have to worry about the lower ends of the good old hierarchy of needs.
It nominally supports those goals, but insists the private sector more than adequately ensures them to those willing to work, without letting those unwilling exploit the system, therefore government has little or no role, because it only enables the latter groups indolence.
The debate is legitimate, but how common is the position you describe even among the New England contingent of a national GOP to which it is anathema?

Does Not a "WE [Not I] BUILT THIS!" Banner Concede Warren and Obama Were Right?
