In addition the ground for voting Republican in a relatively small state are pretty different than on a national level.
Quite so, particularly in very red/blue states. There is a guy, in one of the Border States, IIRC, so openly racist the DNC responded to his nomination by disavowing him on the spot. I am curious about the Brown/Warren race mainly because it and the McCaskill/Akin race may decide control of the next Senate. It is kind of odd to think the only Northeastern GOP Senator is in JFK and Teds old seat (but then, it was Cabot Lodges seat before then, so perhaps it is only right.)
