The damage he (among others) has done to cycling is immense. It has been obvious for a long long time he was a drug cheat and his bullying behaviour towards journalists and other cyclists shall not be missed. I'm just sad that this did not go to a full hearing so people could see the full and overwhelming case against him (which of course is why he is accepting the charge)
Yes - hopefully Bruyneel will take it to a full hearing so all the dirty laundery does get aired.
Sadly cycling still has a way to go and can't seem to learn from it's past mistakes. I think it's a disgrace that Contador will be back in next year's Tour.
To be honest, I'm not really sure where I stand on Contador - the whole situation around him seems very fishy. It does look like he got off lightly though.
His blood sample showed evidence of blood doping but the test was rejected because WADA hadn't cleared it for use, then CAS pretty much refused to the WADA expert on blood doping before ruling that blood doping was as unlikely as the steak defence. Then Contador rejected the chance to plea to having accidently taken it in a contaminated supplement and thus rejected a one year ban rather than a two year ban - there must be something really odd going on for him to have rejected an offer to take a shorter ban that cleared him of blame?
