The question, as for Tom, is what you believe Romney would improve for small businesses.

No thanks.
Not as if anything could make me ever vote Rep if I was American, but it's nice of them to regularly remind me why that thought is such a Nono.
Not as if anything could make me ever vote Rep if I was American, but it's nice of them to regularly remind me why that thought is such a Nono.
But it isn't very mature of me to make my decision based only on those criteria. The economy is a bit more worrying right now, at least to me. Tom made some good points above, re: Obama's lack of experience in the private sector. I work for a very small business, and it seems that Obama tries to speak about being supportive of us, w/o actually knowing what to do to show that.
I don't know. Everything about me wants to make the decision against the religious right type of conservatism, but I am really asking myself if that is such a big deal - I don't think Romney actually believes he should strip back those rights (women's primarily), but I also know I'm taking a hell of a big gamble to assume he's feigning interest there just to get the conservative vote. This whole election period is driving me out of my mind. I want to knock some heads together.
His business experience contains nothing suggesting he would help you or any small business unless you consider buying you out, firing all your employees and declaring you bankrupt "help." You might get some regularity relief, but otherwise I would expect even most tax credits to go to big, not small, business, because they usually do under Republicans. Even regulatory relief is dubious; the previous governor of my state sent its environmental agency after a local catfish farmer because of fecal river runoff (no fish had ever crapped in a river before ) while fighting EPA efforts to clean up petrogiant dumping in Houston.
Consider your relationship with Big Business and the GOPs, then tell me how much Republicans will help you. It is now a fundamentally anti-government party, especially at the federal level, and thus hostile to government helping anyone, or doing anything else. Unfortunately, laissez-faire economics is no better for small business than for consumers or labor: It solely benefits Big Business, which can use market forces and economy of scale to bludgeon small local competitors into oblivion. Exhibit A is Wal$Mart; I do not know if their large garden departments do landscaping but, for your sake, I hope not.
As for the religious right, if Romney does not really want to defund Planned Parenthood and the other things he has publicly stated, that only makes him dishonest, a poor argument for trusting him. None but God know what Romney genuinely believes on those and virtually every other issue; most days, even he is uncertain.
