And yes, I put this in the same category. Mind you, I don't think these laws will be enforceable. But it's mind boggling to me that you need a law at all.


The trucking industry says these devices can be used safely, posing less of a distraction than BlackBerrys, iPhones and similar gadgets, and therefore should be exempted from legislation that would ban texting while driving.

Nice contradiction there. The industry says these can be used safely...assuming you have done what you are "supposed" to do and pulled over? Sounds like they already aren't allowed to use these while driving, so how will including them in the texting ban change things? 8}
