Rome, at the last minute I remembered that Romulus was blown up in the movie, that being the big issue the villain had with Spock and the Vulcans, he blamed them for it. So I added in the Roman God part, then I wasn't sure if Romulus and Remus were considered gods or not, or if so if they were major gods, so I added the city bit in, not knowing of any cities named for Vulcan. I almost scrapped the question.
In fairness, I don't know that I'd have gotten the question even if not for the confusing hints - like I said, I did consider Vulcan, before getting stuck on Apollo as the most important Roman god I could think of who had neither a planet nor a city. But I definitely wasn't thinking of Romulus as a major god, though you're right that he was considered a god and had people praying to him. Of course, so did Julius Caesar...
It seems I'm really bad at these quizzes of yours. I guess as far as sci-fi movies and TV shows go, I've seen almost nothing (I did of course see Star Wars, but not often enough to know the movies by heart like many here), and I'm not exactly well-read in sci-fi either.
