Just some dude, it matters about as much as Alvin Greene Isaac Send a noteboard - 14/03/2012 05:59:19 PM
Very weird for a guy to win the Democratic primary without any local party leaders ever having seen him. On the other hand, Jean Schmidt LOST the GOP primary, so I already consider that seat a win. :| Something about a life-long civilian calling a decorated Vietnam vet a coward never sat well with me (or the House, which has a rule prohibiting members personally attacking each other on the floor; she had to petition them to expunge the Congressional Record to avoid censure.)

Well I don't know if I'd call Murtha a coward, but I don't think highly of the man and I don't approve of someone hiding behind the protection of the chamber for what were contemptible remarks, but I'm not going to get into that and 'tangent' comes to mind. Wenstrup has a good image and will almost certainly win the district, and Smith didn't exactly pull off some surprise victory over a solid candidate, Wulsin's been a perennial candidate and lost 3 or 4 times now, she's never held public office and is just run as a sacrificial lamb anyway. She didn't run in 2010 in favor of some guy I'd never heard of who got mauled by Schmidt, and presumably she got tapped to run again in hopes of a less embarrassing run, these hard red and blue districts, you either run a miracle worker, a person with more passion then common sense, or a person who doesn't mind getting trounced in favor of the status bump of being a nominee. I don't know jack about this Smith guy, but he's probably from one of the counties in the district that's either pretty small in the district or so hard Red the Dem Chair just appoints their BoE members as sinecure office nappers related to someone. It got redistricted too so it would only take a little laziness for all the county chairs to have assumed he was someone else's selection for sacrificial lamb.

It can definitely work.....don't compare 2012 to 2004. - 14/03/2012 02:44:39 PM 478 Views
this is why it will be 2004 all over again if romney is nominated - 16/03/2012 02:22:26 PM 517 Views
It sure as Hell is, as long as the candidate is moderate - 14/03/2012 03:04:10 PM 724 Views

Strongly qualifying your statement really weakens the "anyone". *NM* - 14/03/2012 10:14:45 PM 344 Views
The statement "anyone but Obama" can be a rallying cry, but only for the right candidates. - 16/03/2012 01:47:48 AM 632 Views
somehow i don't see romney having much credibility versus obama - 16/03/2012 02:16:32 PM 516 Views
