Yes, let's just resurrect a dead species that the ecosystem is entirely ill-prepared for. We can use it in zoos to draw in money and leech attention away from EXISTENT SPECIES that desperately need protection and support.
While I appreciate this research from a scientific knowledge standpoint, from an ecological standpoint it just makes me want to vomit. And also from a resource-utilization standpoint.
And, jesus, what're they going to DO with whatever monstrosity they breed? Even if they just contain it, it's going to EAT! EAT A LOT!!
Not to mention that I don't think we have the tools to handle an Elephant Dystocia. What a C-Section that will be!! Talk about some serious sire-dam mismatch...
