He's winning in landslides not because people like him--many Republicans are in fact disgusted with the way in which he's haphazardly gutted the state university system--but because the Democrats have nobody with any name recognition or organization to run against him.

A familiar state of affairs, to be sure.


after a quick search the lowest approval rating I could find for him was 55% in the middle of 2011.
