However, do not underestimate the impact of cost on this decision. I might pay as much as 2 or 3 dollars for a movie, but not anything above that. Instead, I would simply wait for the day the movie is shown on the tv channels that I'm subscribed to, and keep waiting and waiting even if it never happens. Or I could download the movies online and watch them that way. Either way no studios would ever get money from me, because the price of the movies will never drop that low. So I am left with a choice where I simply don't see the movies that I kinda want to see, or one where I do see the movies. Clearly I would go for the latter option.
Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but I really wonder what percentage of pirates go through the above thought process (and what percentage of them actually mean it and aren't simply rationalizing).
