I had moved all of my iTunes files to a network access storage drive that crashed (the information is still there but the RAID router is toast and when I transfer the data it's going to register as a different location).
So...the point is that I had iPod Copy anyway, so I just dumped everything back to my computer, but of course the stupid iTunes program can't find any of the files. I can't use their normal "library consolidation" trick because it can't find the files of origin to move back to iTunes. Going and manually associating the files for 14385 songs is not an appealing prospect.
Has anyone dealt with this before? If so, how did you fix it?

I would go into your preferences and change them to match the new directory you have your music stored in and go from there
You may need to delete your entire library and just do an Add Directory for the new directory and it will sort itself out (I would do this overnight though)

Sorry, I had a similar problem and I think I did what you called manually associating.

Actually, it seems like deleting the entire library and then adding the "Music" folder restored it.
