I don't know, I have a hard time taking investigative journalism from a tabloid seriously. Het Laatste Nieuws has a few authoritative political commentators, and no doubt some serious journalists in other domains as well, but still is mostly known for being sensationalist and a tabloid.
As for the actual content of the article (I'm not entirely sure how many details either Larry or you understand of it), it sounds credible enough, even if I find saliva on old stamps a somewhat risky method of DNA testing (how on earth can you be sure it was Loret himself who licked the stamp? Maybe they had so many letters as to make the likelihood of it being anyone else very unlikely, but still...).
Wikipedia mentions the University of Heidelberg did a DNA test which was inconclusive, neither confirming Loret's claim nor ruling it out, but of course back then DNA testing wasn't very advanced yet.
