Some people just have blinders about things they don't care about

I remember seeing where something like 20% of the high school students in a Texas school couldn't find Texas on a map. No place anywhere in the world has ever been more proud of their outline than the state of Texas. You can't go around the block without seeing it a dozen times. That people can live in Texas and not be able to recognize that shape on a map astounds me. I find it hard to believe that they just never noticed that damn odd shape on everything from street signs to belt buckles. Hell my son has it tattooed on his damn arm. My five year can pick it out on a map even though I am fairly certain she doesn’t really get the concept of maps, she just recognizes the shape.
For fk sake, how can people be this ignorant?

Defining the Sun as the center of the solar system isn't really right either

Huh. Is the system's barycenter actually outside the Sun? I thought it was in the corona. *NM*
