There's an Aboriginal Tent Embassy on the lawns of Australia's Parliament House, set up 40 years ago, which claims to represent the political rights of Aborigines. The leader of the opposition, Tony Abbott, made a statement along the lines of Aboriginals are much better off than they were 40 years ago, and the embassy may no longer be relevant.
The protesters heard, via a government staffer, that the PM and Mr. Abbott were both in a restaurant close to the embassy, and protested at the restaurant, banging windows and the like. The security detail for the PM decided the situation was getting very hostile and decided to escort her from the premises, and she lost her shoe in the dash to the car.
