I love the black banner, like some kind of internet Holocaust. Joel Send a noteboard - 17/01/2012 08:03:27 PM
This will raise public awareness by, to use a technical term, a fuckton.

Of course, SOPA is currently on hold, but I wouldn't be surprised if something similar popped up in a few months when the fervor has died down.

I would be stunned if they do not pass something sooner or later. We are talking about the same government that set the Iranian nuclear weapons program back months, if not years, with a cyberattack, and has its most sensitive areas subjected to a "fuckton" of Chinese viruses and spybots on a daily basis. There WILL be a law and, yes, when the administration invited and encouraged people to make suggestions about what a law should say that was an implicit statement of that. The US government created the internet to ENHANCE, not undermine the nations security, nor its commerce either.

The cybercommunity will not remain the libertarian and anarchist haven its netizens have come to expect any more than the rest of our communities have. And, I am very sorry, but if they did not want the US government initiating "Hacker Crackdown 2.0" they should not have hacked the Pentagon. ;)
