that for the somewhat less geeky among us (I'm assuming), this is rather full of spoilers. I got about half of them (most of the details in each).
Always hard to estimate one's true geek quotient, if you got most you're pretty geeky... actually if you got more than one you're probably a geek.
Well a ***Spoiler Warning*** probably would be appropriate so I've added one to the answers section, I don't think they pose too much risk if the person hasn't read or watched it yet, especially since I was aiming for out of left field interpretations. Since they are all sequels some of them might be identifiable to those who have read or watched the first but not the second, but I don't think that will apply too often. And a lot of these are It was his Sled! or "Frankly, my dear...", "Luke, I am your Father", "You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!" series anyway, people know the twist endings even if they haven't ever seen it, and I don't think there are too many people who have read just the first book of a lot of classic series, and those either people who didn't like it or just coincidentally started reading the series very recently. I could be wrong on that though, but Eddings' Belgariad in particular, which was probably the worst example, tends to be the kind of thing people burn through very quickly on the War and Peace Doorstopper scale, and is pretty much by its very nature un-spoiler-able
