1. The character Spock, from Star Trek, whose home world was destroyed in the recent franchise reboot film, came from what planet?
Spoiler alert? Blowing up Vulcan kinda takes what Abrams did a bit beyond a "re-imagining." It reminds me of how my wife says I should think of the LotR movies as fanfiction. Except 1) Star Trek was already a film franchise (in a sense, it was two) and 2) Jackson took far fewer liberties with the canon.
2. What was the name of the villainous planet-destroying character played by Peter Cushing in the original Star Wars movie ‘A New Hope’?
Took me a minute, but then I remembered how Princess Leia greeted him when they captured her: Admiral Tarkin (which I probably misspelled.)
3. A good friend of Peter Cushing’s, Christopher Lee, also played a major villain in Stars Wars prequel movies, as well as in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings, what were the names of those two villain roles?
Count Dooku and Saruman.
4. In the Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, the character of Elrond was played by Hugo Weaving, who also a played a major villain in the Matrix trilogy, what was that character’s name?
Agent Smith. Somewhat impressive range, all things considered, though he did seem a little menacing as Elrond (but that might be because he was recognizably Agent Smith and in many dark scenes.)
5. In the first Matrix film, the main character Neo is offered two colored pills by the character Morpheus, what color was the pill Neo swallowed?
Um... 50/50 shot, eh? I will go with blue.
6. In 1985 Arnold Schwarzenegger starred as John Matrix in the film ‘Commando’, he also had a major role in another movie that year where he played ‘Lord Kalidor’, a role considered very similar to his previous Conan roles, what was the name of that other 1985 film?
Red Sonja
7. Arnold Schwarzenegger later went on to become governor of California, before then he starred alongside a future governor of Minnesota in a 1987 sci-fi action film. What was the name of that Governor and the name of that Movie?
Jesse "the Governor" Ventura and Predator.
8. Carl Weathers, who also starred in the movie from #7, later starred as General Skyler in the Sci-Fi Channel made for TV movie Alien Siege. His Co-star in that film, Brad Johnson, previously was the lead role in a Sci-Fi Channel movie pilot based on a famous book sci-fi series written by Philip José Farmer named for the fictional world it takes place on. What is the name of that world?
I had no idea Sci-Fi did a series pilot of Riverworld. I always liked that series; I will have to see if I can find the film.
9. In the first book of the aforementioned series by Philip José Farmer, the main character finds himself traveling with Nazi war criminal Hermann Göring, who was played by Brian Cox in the Television mini-series Nurmeburg, for which he won a Golden Globe. Two years later he starred as Colonel William Stryker in a movie adaptation of a comic book series, which also starred Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. What is the name of the comic book series the movie was based off of?
With that cast it has to be X Men.
10. Patrick Stewart first became known to Sci-fi fans for his role in the 1984 movie Dune, where he played Gurney Halleck, one of the mentors of the main character Paul Atreides. One of his other mentors was the treacherous Dr. Yueh, who was played by Dean Stockwell, who later co-starred with Scott Bakula in the series Quantum Leap. Scott Bakula later went on to play the Captain of a spaceship in a TV series that ran from 2001-2005… what was the name of the series and the ship he commanded?
Enterprise, probably the most underrated series in that franchise.
Bonus: In that same series Bakula’s non-human science officer, T’pol, played by Jolene Blalock, came from what planet?
Vulcan, though you tipped your hat a bit by calling it a "Circle Quiz."
Honorbound and honored to be Bonded to Mahtaliel Sedai
