But that's easily compensated by the fact that you have a person to share with.
And we still have our separate activities.
I think it really just depends on what your SO is comfortable with. In our relationship, we don't exactly hold each other back from the things we want to do.
E.g. I'm fine when my SO goes out to dinner with female friends (even exes). Similarly, he doesn't mind me from spending time with male friends one on one. And no, we don't have an open relationship.
And from time to time he spends the entire evenings playing marathon gaming sessions with a friend. Not sure if it's as often as he'd like, but we both have such busy lives that I figure that even if we weren't together, he'd still not be able to game that much more often. But then, we also play video games together.
