1) Buy a premium account so Ben can continue to pay for the server.
I will not pay over $20 for something that I get at other boards for free.
That's the thing. Everyone begged for someone to do something to keep wotmania's community alive in some form, and then when Ben steps up to the plate, puts in a fuck load of work, no-one wants to pay to make sure it remains. I really hate that. Annoys the hell out of me and I don't think it's fair.
Ben has to do something to encourage people to buy the premies, and one of those things is offering functionality that people want - for a price. It's fair enough. If he doesn't pay for the server the site dies. If that's what people want then fine, don't pay. However, if people want this community to stay alive then why should they not contribute? What's $20 per year?
2) Block the Politics category, if you don't want to see it, or any other category that annoys you.
I think you missed the thrust of my post.
Nah, this was more of a response to the constant whining that a select few make.
3) Post something interesting and different instead of whining about how boring it all is on the Board.
I wouldn't know about posting anything interesting and different, or at least anything that gets a response from the people I reference in other posts
I'm pregnant. I forget things.
4) Get involved more - look around the Boards, share things that interest you.
Uh...uh...something tells me launching a squirrel invasion will not be all that popular here.
I dunno. People here are kerazy.
After all, isn't that what it's all about?
Nope. It was an admonishment more than anything else.
I suspect that if you want to admonish certain people you need to be more bald about it. Hints hardly ever work.

Political Board = Chat Drama x 9000 *NM*

I doubt that very much.

Which is pretty much my point

I remain unconvinced a few voices can drown out the rest in an internet environment.

the problem with the chat drama is spilled over into everything else

All the political crap would go there, like it does on those other sites.

Perhaps some might feel more comfortable posting if it were separate?

Probably the easiest solution is to have a filter instead, save the new board for a "Writers Board"

There are actually a number of simple and effective solutions if this really bugs people

There is a reason we are seeing so much complaining about politics form certain people

You're adorable. You're also pretty new to the site, as I recall.

yes I was refering to you

Then you should know there are fewer conservatives on the site now.

That's arguably flawed reasoning, there's apparently considerably fewer posters overall now

To a certain extent. But the site's left lost LiterateDog and Chorabliss.

If people want to keep the place alive and interesting for themselves then they can do these things:

there would be so little traffic on the community board that you could shut it down
