I assume we are. Obviously dishes I put in the dishwasher are rinsed and dry by the time I take them out.

But yeah, hand-washing: Put soap on plate. Put water on plate. Scrub until clean. Wash excess soap off of plate. Put in drying rack.


But I think most people wash batches of dishes by putting water and soap in a dish tub and dunking/soaking/scrubbing, rather than your method. And so the question is whether items are rinsed after being swished in the dish tub or just put out to dry
