The variety of the "blue laws" is a bit nuts. Avendesora Send a noteboard - 08/11/2011 02:39:55 PM
In Texas there are laws on when you can buy it but some counties have more restrictive laws. In a lot of place you can not buy it at all or you can only buy beer and wine. It still seems strange to me to go to LA and see them selling hard liquor at a 7-11. In Texas and a lot of other states you can only buy the hard stuff at liquor stores and they all close at 9.

In VT you can buy beer and wine at the grocery store but not liquor. In one store near my old apartment, they have a store within a store. There was a separate place totally enclosed I glass. You had to enter it to buy liquor, pay for it in there, then walk back out into center of the store. WTF? And I think the bars are allowed to stay open later.

In NY you can buy beer in the grocery store, but wine is sold only at liquor stores. I know that some are trying to change that law, I don't know if it passed or not. People are saying it'll put the liquor stores out of business. The bars are allowed to stay open til 2:00 am here, but on long island they are allowed to stay open til 4:00. You cant buy beer until after noon on Sunday. this is a pain for me because I drive 15 miles once a week to stock up. And I like to go while all the good people are still in church to beat the rush. :D

I believe all news and research that supports my opinion, and dismiss the rest as conspiracy and lies.
