Do you think that the ideals of democracy have a place in a free market economy?

--- Yes, democracy and free market go hand-in-hand. Only China has mixed free market and state-rule and only to pacify the public which was starting to revolt over the government's repression, i.e., T-Square.

Actually its an ongoing change to Deng Xiaoping's PRC renaissance from the 1970's to rid China of Moaist ideologies. What is it about democracy and free market that you think makes them go hand in hand?
Do the ideals of democracy more accurately represent communism?

--- No, democracy and communism are incompatible.

How come?

Can a true democratic political system and a true free market economy coexist?

--- "True" free market doesn't exist and never will. However, the principles of free market economies is much more safe and possible in a democracy.
I agree, I don't think they exist either in a real world manifestation but they do exist ideologically. Why do you think its safer in a democracy? I would think any economy is safer in a democracy/ republic even communism.
